The National Botanical Garden is a great place for leisurely outdoor walks in Tbilisi. It’s located on the same hill as the Mother of Georgia and Narikala Fortress which makes it a convenient place for sightseeing. For your visit, be sure to wear comfortable shoes and a hat or sunglasses, as the hilly open landscape is quite large and hot on a sunny day.
There are quite a few points of interest for everyone to visit, especially nature lovers. Besides the hundreds of plant species to discover (including bamboo!), there is also a beautiful waterfall, long trails, bridges, a Japanese garden, and great views of Tbilisi. That said, be sure to set aside a couple of hours to explore and enjoy the surroundings. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the National Botanical Garden makes for a nice visit year-round. However, most people enjoy when the plants start to bloom and come to life in the Spring.
