 Vienna’s art history museum, the Kunsthistorisches, features an incredible collection of work within its lavish interiors. Emperor Franz Joseph I commissioned the museum, along with the Natural History Museum, to house the extensive imperial collections. 

 During your visit, you will discover an impressive collection of Egyptian antiquities, a coin museum, Greek and Roman antiquities, and the Picture Gallery. The Picture Gallery is filled with masterpieces and spectacular works from around the 15-17th centuries. Including notable works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Caravaggio, Raphael, and Bruegel to name a few. Needless to say, it’s easy to get caught up in the awe-inspiring works on display at the Kunsthistorisches.
