The Powder Tower, or Gothic Tower, is one of the original city gates and entranceways into Prague. The striking tower was constructed in 1475 and was the starting point for coronation processions for the Czech Kings. In fact, it is still the starting point for the royal route to Prague Castle!
The Powder Tower also was once a storage for gunpowder, hence the name! However, today it is a popular tourist spot for visitors in Old Town. Inside, you can climb the 186 steps and see great views of the Prague!
