The Old Town Hall was established in 1338 as the seat of administration at the heart of Prague. It is the most visited site thanks to the beautiful and historic astronomical clock on the tower. The clock was installed in 1410 and is the third oldest astronomical clock in the world, and the oldest one still in use! Every hour between 9:00 and 23:00 the clock begins the procession of the 12 apostles and many gather around to watch.
Today, you can walk through the historical halls and the Romanesque-Gothic cellars below. But the highlight is within the Old Town Hall Tower where you can find the 12 rotating apostles, a chapel, and make your way up to the top! At the viewing deck you will see incredible viewpoints of the capital. Including the entirety of the main square, Prague castle in the distance, and the many spires along Prague’s skyline. Fun Fact: It’s the only medieval clock in Prague that is fully wheelchair accessible!
