If you want to enjoy a good cup of coffee, or kaffee, in Vienna, then here some places you need to check out! Before we dive into where to find the best coffee in Vienna, I want to note that I would not call myself a coffee expert or connoisseur, but I do enjoy and appreciate a good cup. That said, I tried 10 different coffee cafes in Vienna and here are the places that I enjoyed most, came back to, and will definitely visit when I return.
Fenster Cafe is one of the best places to get a coffee in Vienna even though you can only order to go. This small coffee shop serves the classics, as well as specialty coffee drinks and cocktails. Even a coffee served in a waffle cone! Head up to the window for one of the best tasting coffees you might ever have while roaming the streets of Vienna.
Knockbox is another small cafe worth visiting for the coffee. Here, there are mostly classic coffee and tea options, plus some delicious cookies too (the almond pistachio was my favourite). Also, seating is limited but it is right next to Ressel Park. In case you have to take your cup to go, go stroll through the park where the beautiful Karlskirche is located.
Un Petit Cafe is a cute little spot for an enjoyable coffee, pastries, and light breakfast and lunch options. The cafe is right near the Museumsquartier so be sure to stop in before or after your visit. Note: I completely forgot to take a picture, I guess I was too busy enjoying the day.
Cafe Landtmann is a traditional Viennese cafe that has seen many famous and prominent figures throughout its history. More importantly, you can expect a good cup of coffee and see what the coffee house culture is all about here. Also, there are plenty of food options from breakfast to dinner.
Last but not least is Kaffee Alt Wein, a cafe and traditional restaurant close to many attractions in the city. Undoubtedly, the coffee, service, and atmosphere makes for a good visit. Also, you will be able to try one of the best apple strudels in Vienna here too!
