It’s a new year, which means it’s time to visit new places! Or visit places you’ve already been because they were just that great. Whatever the case may be, get inspired to go travel and experience the world this year with these 24 places to visit in 2024.
A real paradise awaits you at Phra Nang Beach. Imagine clear blue water, limestone cliffs, mysterious caves and sun and sand. This beautiful place is also not easily accessible, which makes the allure of Phra Nang Beach even more wonderful and exclusive. The best way to get there is to take a longtail boat from Ao Nang to Railay Beach. From there, a 20 minute walk through forests and caves until you reach this particular beach. It’s worth the trek and admittedly, it’s even better than the famous Railay Beach.
Overall, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a much better travel spot than Niagara Falls. Just a 25 minute drive North from the falls and you’ll be in the charming downtown of Niagara-on-the-Lake. You’ll find better restaurants, less tourists, and some of Canada’s best wineries in the region.
Vietnam’s capital city is an incredible destination worth checking out in Vietnam. This past year I visited Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An and Hanoi and Hanoi topped my list by a landslide. The food, the people, the vibe, and the small town charm that this big city has makes it truly unique. Plus the closeness to Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh and Sa Pa make it a convenient spot for travellers looking to get away from city life. Oh and seriously, the food in Northern Vietnam is the best – this place is a must for foodies!
The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient wonder that truly brings you to another time, its iconic for a reason. Don’t skip out on seeing such incredible sites like the Parthenon, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Erechtheion in your lifetime. Plus the views of Athens are a bonus.
Ask anyone in British Columbia about where to go and I bet you they will say to visit Vancouver Island. This nature filled island is an escape like no other and one you won’t soon forget. Hiking through the biggest trees you’ll see in your life, wandering Victoria and surfing in Tofino are just some of the awesome experiences on the island.
The canals and cookie cutter homes and buildings are the external draws of Amsterdam, but look a bit deeper and you may find yourself learning a bit more, partying a bit more, and enjoying life a bit more. Amsterdam is a truly good time and I highly recommend exploring this beautiful city with friends and family to share the adventures with.
I feel like I don’t need to explain the draws of Iceland – have you ever heard anyone say they didn’t enjoy their time there? Honestly how can you not when there are magnificent waterfalls, incredible hiking trails and views, relaxing natural hot baths and the mystical aurora borealis dancing in the night sky.
Way up in Northern Thailand is one of the most friendly and intriguing cities you can find anywhere. Chiang Mai is without a doubt one of my favourite destinations thanks to its local charm, incredible food, awesome views, and budget-friendly prices. The temples here are beyond mesmerizing and there is quite a bit to explore considering its overall size. Go visit – you won’t regret it.
The great thing about America is it’s variety of activities and things to do but one of its top contenders are the stunning National Parks throughout many states. From Zion National Park to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, among many other incredible places. For this reason, planning a National Park trip should be on your 2024 bucket list!
Vienna has been inspiring artists, leaders and travellers for centuries with its grand architecture and allure. This magnificent city is sure to charm and inspire you, no matter where you are in the city! So if you need to get your creative juices flowing or get a taste of royal opulence then this is place to be.
Malaysia’s capital is a multicultural and vibrant city with bustling markets and eye-catching landmarks. Go wander around the city and you’ll soon see why Kuala Lumpur is an intriguing destination in South East Asia.
Portugal’s culturally rich capital city is a favourite amongst many. Whether you want to ride the iconic trams or eat as many Pastel De Nata’s (the most delicious custard tarts you’ll ever try!), Lisbon is brimming with fun things to do in a pastel-coloured setting along the Atlantic.
Within the Vatican walls is one of the most famous paintings in the world and it lies on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo’s masterpiece depicts scenes from the Bible’s old testament and it includes the Creation of Adam. It’s truly amazing to see in real life, the many frescoes seem to come to life from above and you won’t believe your eyes when you see it.
A dreamy destination for many, the Scottish Highlands are known for the breathtaking mountains and nature-filled scenery that will make you want to live a life in the countryside. The rugged, often gloomy vibe might just be exactly what you need to reset and start fresh with a new perspective.
Bangkok’s famous temples are aplenty, but there are few that are arguably more awe-inspiring than others. That includes Wat Pho and this impressive golden reclining Buddha you can find within. There is no way you can’t be amazing by its size which is why Wat Pho one of the best places to go in 2024.
Some of the world’s most inspiring and extraordinary masterpieces in art are on display in Madrid’s Prado Museum. Some artists include Goya, El Greco, Velazquez, Caravaggio and Raphael to name a few. Visiting the Prado museum is one of the best things to do in Madrid so don’t miss out! Note that this place is huge and it’s unlikely that you’ll see everything in one visit.
Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year, especially when you’re in Europe. All across the continent are popup Christmas Markets with sparkling lights, warm treats, local goods and cheerful music. If you need some fun travel inspiration then consider a winter trip to Europe for the cheery Christmas Market vibes.
Meat, wine, football and breathtaking scenery are some of the highlights around Argentina. That’s not all though, Argentina is a big country and there are tons of options for travellers of all kinds. Maybe you want to go to Buenas Aires or Mendoza or see bucket list worthy sites like Patagonia and the Iguazu Falls. Whatever it may be, Argentina might just be one of your best 2024 travel destinations.
Okay wine lovers, this is the birthplace of wine – or so they say. Considering the oldest wine vessel was found in Georgia, that might actually be true. Georgia’s Khaketi Region is truly a unique place for wine lovers. Here you can walk the many vineyards and sample some of most unique wines you will ever have. All while learning about the qvevri, the underground clay pots used to age that delicious wine.
In the heart of Milan lies one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the world called Duomo di Milano. This architectural beauty is so intricate and detailed that a trip in person is the only way to give it any justice. That said, you should definitely make Milan one of your 2024 travel destinations.
Cruise your way to one of the most beautiful destinations on Earth, Alaska – the United States’ most sparsely populated state. Here you will come across glaciers, wildlife, stunning national parks, hot springs and even the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. The state can also be driven into from Canada and it’s definitely worth the drive. When I went we drove into Hyder to get ‘hyderized’, which means taking a shot of clear alcohol that is 150 proof. However when we arrived the bar was closed so we could only check out the natural sights, which was probably for the best!
The place so nice I went there twice – and I’d go again. Venice is the most charming and picturesque places in Italy. Just to wander the canals, having an aperol spritz and gazing at the architecture is a vacation worth doing. The fun boat ride from the airport to Venice will make you feel like you’re living in an Italian fantasy.
Get lost in thought visiting the nature-filled country of New Zealand. For outdoor enthusiasts and those wishing for a relaxing getaway there are plenty of highlights and points of interest for you. From water sports, skydiving, mineral pools and caves, you will love this action-packed adventure!
Canada’s tiny east coast gem will make for a surprisingly pleasing trip that will make you dream of visiting again. There are a few things that make the province extra special, like the 70+ lighthouses along the coast, the freshest seafood you can find, and of course the wonderful locals willing to share a story or helpful tip. Prince Edward Island is a bucket list trip worth crossing off your list!
